The Ministry of Information and Communications to hold State-owned stake in Vietnam Post Corporation

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) will hold the State-owned stake in the Vietnam Post Corporation from 2013, according to a decision by the Prime Minister.

The Vietnam Post Corporation is a subsidiary of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and has charter capital of VND8.122 trillion (nearly US$390 million).
Under the PM’s directive, VNPT will complete the transfer of ownership of the Vietnam Post Corporation to the MIC by January 1, 2013.
The Vietnam Post Corporation provides mail, newspaper and parcel delivery services through the postal system, as well as telecommunications and financial services.
The corporation boasts an extensive network of post offices across the country with a staff of over 42,700
