Wincanton wins new contract with Focus DIY
Wincanton has won a new contract to operate the Focus DIY warehouse at Severnside, formerly run in house by Great Mills. All 121 employees at the warehouse will be transferred to Wincanton in accordance with TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) regulations, and Wincanton says it plans to expand the workforce by a further 20%. The 22,900 sq m warehouse is semi-automated, handling small parts stored in 31,000 tote locations and larger items accommodated in a racking system with 27,000 locations.
