My Parcel Delivery to offer new services

My Parcel Delivery has taken its next step to becoming a fully-fledged logistics business with a location move to new offices which also has warehousing facilities. The online parcel delivery comparison website founded four years ago in Manchester plans to offer new services including warehousing plus pick and pack services aimed primarily at growing e-commerce, eBay and Amazon businesses. This will complement its existing low-cost delivery prices negotiated with courier services such as DPD, City Link, Parcelforce, Hermes and DX.

Its new 23,000 sqft unit based in Trafford Park, Manchester – four times the size of its most recent offices – will also house the company’s growing teams, including more than 20 new IT developers currently being recruited alongside the eight new job roles already created and filled in the last six months in the marketing, sales and customer service departments.

David Grimes, My Parcel Delivery’s managing director, says: “We know that our customers’ e-commerce, eBay and Amazon businesses are growing at an incredible rate and they are looking for a broader range of services to help them manage this period of expansion while saving time and money.

“The recent investments we’ve received mean we are now in a position to respond to more of our customers’ requirements with a wider variety of services and enter the next phase of becoming a broader logistics and supply chain partner..”

“Our new warehousing facility will enable growing e-commerce businesses to use a drop shipping approach, which means they pass the entire responsibility for storage of stock, inventory and order fulfilment to us to get their products to customers in the UK and Internationally.”

“This is ideal for online businesses that have outgrown their current facilities and need greater efficiency in storage and despatching of goods. Drop shipping is a tried and tested way of working and allows smaller businesses to concentrate on sales and marketing while leaving the logistics of storing and moving the goods to My Parcel Delivery. Of course, these services are complemented by our well-established ability to obtain and offer highly competitive delivery rates from leading courier companies to UK and International destinations.

“And the additional office space we now have at Trafford Park enables us to further continue recruiting high quality people to ensure we have the best technology and customer service support as our range of services expands.”

Re-location to Trafford Park also allows My Parcel Delivery access to faster online connectivity through a dedicated Metronet line.
