New procedure for opening of postal agencies in UAE

Emirates Post has announced a new procedure concerning the opening of new postal agencies. The Directorate of Zonal affairs will be in overall charge of these agencies whether they are associated with Postal Zones or with Emirates Commercial Services (Empost). At present there are more than 211 licensed shops to provide postal services throughput the UAE, including 29 fully-fledged post agencies and 182 stamp agencies. The fully-fledge agencies include 11 in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, nine in Dubai, eight in Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain postal zone and one in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah zone.

Making postal services available for the public is a promising business and of a big financial benefit to shopkeepers, he added. Postal Agencies are closely monitored by Emirates Post to make sure that quality service is being maintained, and that its standards are fully complied with. All new license applications will be considered for approval, by Assistant Director General for Zonal Affairs, Al Sahya.
