Alibaba unveils three-hour healthcare delivery service

Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba will be introducing a three-hour delivery service for healthcare products – which will help the company keep pace with its rival JD.com. Alibaba will launch the new service in five key Chinese cities – including Shanghai and Beijing – and plans to extend the network to 19 cities before the end of this year. Further expansion is slated for 2016.

The service will be called “Ji Su Da” (meaning “fast delivery”).

Alibaba has arranged partnership agreements with a number of pharmacy chains which sell their products on the company’s Tmall.com e-commerce website.
