China and Russia to focus on express rail link for postal services

Plans are afoot for a new China-Russia express rail link for postal services. Chinese news agency services have reported that Aleksey Skatin, the Deputy CEO of Russian Post, revealed the plans at the recent St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Skatin reportedly said that Russians made around 80 million online purchases in 2014, and 80% of the goods ordered came from China. With such close e-commerce ties, a faster rail link connecting the two countries would be desirable, added Skatin.
