Europa wins £1m contract with Euro Car Parts

Europa Warehouse has won a new £1m contract to support UK-based Euro Car Parts’ national distribution centres, providing 3PL warehousing and logistics services during a period of rapid growth. Up to 5,000 pallets will be imported from direct suppliers and Euro Car Parts’ National Distribution Centre, and stored at Europa’s 16,540 m2 Birmingham warehouse. Products will then be picked, packed and delivered by Europa’s road freight service, to the national distribution centre based in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Under the terms of the 18-month contract, Europa will handle all the mixed spares stock for Euro Car Parts – over 5000 different products, from spark plugs to full exhaust systems.

Euro Car Parts’ distribution centres currently supply more than 190 of its sites across the country. A third distribution centre in Tamworth, due to be operational in 2016, is currently under construction and will further increase Euro Car Parts’ capacity to meet mounting demand.

Euro Car Parts has over 224 branches nationwide and over 140,000 parts available. It specialises in major car parts – brake pads, blades and batteries, car maintenance essentials such as engine oil and car fluids and interior accessories like Sat Navs, stereos and speakers.

Europa Warehouse is a division of the logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group.

In a statement announcing the new contract, Europa said that it has a history of working closely with automotive parts suppliers and manufacturers. Its Birmingham facility already handles inbound air freight from the Far East for another of its automotive clients. Orders are then sent for onward distribution to production sites in the EU and overseas within tight timescales.

Jason Stirling, Senior Business Development Manager at Europa Warehouse, said: “We’re proud of the strength of our partnership with Euro Car Parts. The nature of the products – the variety, size and fragile nature of some of the units – can make the picking and packing process quite challenging. With our contacts and experience however, combined with our bespoke Warehouse Management System, Accellos, we have the capacity to respond quickly, handle increasing volumes as the business expands and integrate fully with Euro Car Parts’ system to ensure a seamless level of service.”
