Tesco raises free Click & Collect threshold

Tesco is raising the threshold for its free Click & Collect service to £40. The supermarket giant issued a statement saying: “We’re changing the minimum basket spend when you shop online for your groceries to £40. Customers will still be able to benefit from a range of offers, including our Delivery Saver scheme, £1 one hour delivery slots and our free Click & Collect grocery service.”

The current threshold (or “minimum basket spend”) for a free Click & Collect delivery is £25. The new policy is reportedly set to come into play on 23 July.  Shoppers who spend under £40 can still opt for Click & Collect, sources report, but they will have to pay a £4 charge.

As previously reported by Post&Parcel, John Lewis announced at the start of this month that it will be charging £2 for Click & Collect deliveries on goods costing less than £30 – and this also applies to purchases at sister company Waitrose.
