Transnorm buys Sovex

Transnorm has bought Prenton-based Sovex Systems for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 2002, Sovex manufactures, services and maintains vehicle loaders and conveyor systems for both the post and parcel industry and the airport baggage handling sector.

Sovex employs around 200 people in the UK, the Netherlands, the US and Malaysia. The company’s recent projects in the parcel sector include installing a tailor-made system of conveyor belts and vehicle loaders at UK Mail’s new hub in Ryton, near Coventry.

Established in 1957, Transnorm specialises in developing conveyor modules. Its systems have been installed at mail centres, airports and other facilities.

Sovex confirmed to Post&Parcel today (7 August) that the deal was agreed yesterday, and said that an official statement would be issued next week.
