Toys”R”Us lowers free shipping threshold

Toys”R”Us has lowered the minimum spend required for free shipping of online orders at Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com from $49 to $19. Commenting on the new free shipping threshold, Matt Blonder, Vice President, e-Commerce, Toys”R”Us, US said:  “We’re constantly evaluating our offerings and listening to our customers to determine how we might enhance their online shopping experience. Based on current insights and a comprehensive review of the competitive landscape, we’ve decided to drastically lower our free shipping minimum, just in time for the holiday season.”

The company also offers free delivery of online orders through its Free Store Pickup service, which enables customers to shop online and pick up their purchase at a local Toys”R”Us or Babies”R”Us store in an hour or less. In addition, Babiesrus.com will continue to offer free shipping on all baby gear items with no minimum purchase required.

Toys”R”Us does advise that free shipping is “available only on economy shipping to street addresses in the contiguous United States” and surcharges may apply on “large/heavy items”.
