Deutsche Post majority in Guipuzcoana

Deutsche Post today increased its stake in the Spanish parcel service provider Guipuzcoana Euro Express from 49 percent to 51 percent ‑ thereby becoming the majority owner.

‘The option to purchase an additional two percent in the company was agreed in 1999 when the first 49 percent was acquired. This step marks intensification in the successful cooperation between Guipuzcoana Euro Express and Deutsche Post Euro Express.

Members of Guipuzcoana Euro Express’s founding family will stay on as the company’s senior management team.

Guipuzcoana Euro Express plays a key role within Deutsche Post Euro Express’s Europe‑wide network and provides comprehensive coverage within Spain and Portugal.

The Guipuzcoana Group was founded in 1947 and relies on a team of 4,400 professionals in 85 branch offices throughout Spain and Portugal.’
