AirMule drone completes first autonomous, untethered flight
Urban Aeronautics has reported that its AirMule cargo delivery drone has completed its first autonomous, untethered flight. The AirMule achieved this feat on 30 December 2015 at the Megiddo airfield in northern Israel.
According to a statement issued by Urban Aeronautics: “The testing schedule in Megiddo includes plans for a demonstration of AirMule’s cargo delivery capability as well as a ‘beyond the line of sight’ flight along a path running through an adjacent, forested area.”
The AirMule can reportedly carry a load of around 500kg for 30 miles.
