Operinter opens new offices in Spain and Peru

Operinter – the Spanish member of the FPS global forwarding and NVOCC network – has opened two new branches in Peru and Spain. The Peruvian branch will primarily handle imports, providing door-to-door service. It offers full multi-modal forwarding services, and is an accredited Customs Broker with a strategic alliance with GLF Aduanas (the Peruvian Customs Agency). It is Operinter’s third office in Latin America.

Based in the capital, Lima, the new operation is managed by Maria Elena Reyes who previously worked for Acciona Forwarding and has more than 25 year’s experience in the freight industry.

The second new Operinter office is in Portcastello, in Spain’s Castellon province. A satellite of the company’s operation in neighbouring Valencia, the new branch is targeting the major ceramics and tile-producing business located in the region. It is Operinter’s 20th domestic office.

Operinter Managing Director Pedro Lopez commented: “Peru is one of the most active economies in Latin America, attracting strong investment from Spanish companies in recent years. This is driving growth in two-way trade with Spain, making it a logical next step in our international expansion.

“Our Castellon branch has great potential to support the region’s ceramics manufacturers, giving them easier and more local access to our comprehensive range of services.”

Operinter is Spain’s third largest freight forwarding and logistics organisation, with 20 branches in Spain and 7 branches in other countries. Sister company Traimer has four further offices in Spain.
