JD.com reportedly partnering with Yamato
Online retailer JD.com is planning to partner with Yamato Holdings to arrange deliveries of products from Japan to China, according to local reports. According to reports on the Nikkei Asian Review website and Reuters, the partnership will let Chinese consumers receive Japanese products four days after they have placed an order on JD.com’s website.
Yamato will reportedly take care the customs process and transport cargo from Japan to China, and then use bonded warehouses in Shanghai to limit tax and import duties.
The service could start up as early as next month (May), according to Nikkei.
