IKEA to open Order and Collection Point in Aberdeen next week
IKEA will be opening the doors of its new IKEA Aberdeen Order and Collection point on 12 May. The Order and Collection Point concept is a new format for IKEA. It is considerably smaller than a traditional IKEA store and has been designed primarily as a location where customers will be able to order from the IKEA online range for home delivery or for collection at the collection point. The new format store will feature a small range of the ‘markethall’ items which customers to take home on the day of their visit.
As part of its expansion plans to make IKEA more accessible to more people, the company will be testing a number of similar Order and Collection Points across the UK. IKEA Aberdeen Order and Collection point is the first to be opened in Scotland and the second in the UK following IKEA Norwich Order and Collection Point, which opened in November 2015.
On Friday (29 April), IKEA also confirmed that it will be opening an Order and Collection Point in Birmingham city centre in the summer. IKEA said that the new facility at Dale End will have “specific collection bays available for customers who would like to explore the unit’s unique drive-in collection service”.
