Parcelforce Worldwide introduces Quote and Book service

Royal Mail Group’s express parcel business, Parcelforce Worldwide, has introduced a new ‘Quote and Book’ service, which the company says will make it easier for customers to find the best price and service option for their parcel delivery. Quote and Book is one of a series of web enhancements made by Parcelforce Worldwide in recent months to make it easier for customers to use its services online.

In a statement sent to Post&Parcel this morning, Parcelforce Worldwide said that it has streamlined its online booking tool, so non-account customers and individuals can now “get a quote; compare delivery options and prices at a glance; check the validity of the postcode entered; and book a collection – all in one place”.

Parcelforce Worldwide has also changed the way that information about tracked items is displayed on its website.

The new display includes:

  • a visual display status bar showing where a parcel is in its journey – both in the UK and overseas
  • summary messages explaining the last tracked location of the parcel and next steps
  • a new proof-of-delivery signature that is automatically displayed on the same screen when available
  • on-screen messaging.

Commenting on the changes, Gary Simpson, Managing Director of Parcelforce Worldwide, said: “We continuously review and improve our service to make sure we give our customers what they need. Business owners are increasingly pushed for time. They want to be able to do more and more online in one place and at one time. We are pleased to introduce these changes, which we hope will help our customers organise the most efficient and cost-effective delivery services all at the click of a button.”
