Target reportedly ending its Curbside pilot programme

Target is set to discontinue the pilot programme it has been running with delivery partner Curbside, according to US media sources. As previously reported, Target has been trialling the Curbside service in a number of US cities. Shoppers place their orders online and then Curbside people source the items from the participating Target store and bring the package to the customers’ cars.

Sources report that Target will be shutting down the service on 15 June, adding that retailer has decided that it wants to focus on its “core” digital offerings and its own in-house click and collect offering. With Target’s own click and collect service, customers can still order products online for in-store pick-up – but they will have to get out of their cars to collect the items.
