Ipostel mail service quality behind other countries
Jose Ferrarotto, president of Venezuelas mail service company Ipostel, has told the countrys media its mail service quality is behind that of other countries, and modernisation should be expected with the new postal bill passed by the Venezuelan Congress.
The draft bill sets out plans to allow private companies to provide postal services and also the liberation of the market. Among other things the bill points to the creation of a postal agency, private operators will have to pay to the government a comission of 1 to 5% of their gross income. Currently there are 426 private companies rendering the service without paying licenses to the government.
