eBay reports $2.2bn Q2 revenue

eBay has reported a second quarter (Q2) revenue of $2.2bn and a gross merchandise volume (GMV) of $20.9bn. “Q2 was another good quarter where we delivered strong results and had acceleration in growth,” said Devin Wenig, President and CEO of eBay.

In a statement issued yesterday (20 July), eBay also reported that it crossed the one billion live listings mark for the first time in Q2.

The results beat analysts’ expectations, which prompted a 5% rise in eBay share prices in after-hours trading yesterday.

Looking forward, eBay said that it expected to generate a net revenue of between $2.16bn and $2.19bn in Q3. For full year  2016, eBay expects a net revenue of between $8.85bn and $8.95bn.
