LP EXPRESS locker network set to expand

Lithuanian Post has announced that it plans to add another 22 self-service parcel terminals to its LP EXPRESS network by the end of the year. The company will also be adding new lockers to its existing terminal installations.

The expansion programme, which will beef up the network by almost a third, will be carried out in two stages.

“By 1 October, the first new 11 self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS will be installed in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Kupiškis, Garliava and Kuršėnai,” Lithuanian Post said in a statement sent to Post&Parcel this morning (24 August). “The rest will be set up during October and November.”

Currently, there are 80 self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS installed in 41 towns and cities in Lithuania. A total of 102 self-service parcel terminals will be operating by the end of the year.

Juozas Buitkus, director of Baltic Post, the subsidiary company of Lithuania Post that runs the self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS, commented: “The development of terminals is implemented after analyzing customer needs to use self-service parcel terminals. We seek to ensure larger and more convenient accessibility for people to collect and send items.

“New self-service parcel terminals LP EXPRESS will be installed near the major supermarkets, where the largest flow of residents take place. Meanwhile, additional lockers will be installed in those terminals that are filled with items in the fastest way.”
