Amazon Prime comes to Vancouver and Toronto

Amazon is extending the coverage of its Prime same day delivery service to Vancouver and Toronto. The free same day service applies to orders of at least $25.

Orders placed after the daily cut-off point (which is typically noon) arrive the next day.

Amazon started launching the Prime same day delivery service in the US last year and has since expanded to more cities in the US and in other countries.

In other Amazon-related news, there have been reports that the online retailer may be looking at potential sites for its first fulfilment centre in Australia, and that it is exploring the possibilities of “in-home delivery” (which essentially means using technology to gain approved, one-time access to a customer’s home or garage to drop off deliveries even if the customer is not on the premises).
