La Poste CEO presents 5-year plan

The French La Poste’s CEO, Mr Jean-Paul Bailly has presented his company’s 5-year strategy plan, which comprises stronger partnerships with other European post companies and with one or several globally active service providers, the completion of La Poste’s own European network as well as investments in new parcel and express transshipment centres.

Speaking in Paris, Mr Bailly said that La Poste’s focus over the coming years would be on the core business segments letters, parcels and express.

Mr Bailly clearly rejected speculations about La Poste venturing into the logistics sector. The strategy document states that ‘the massive injections of capital required, even for limited expansion, are today out of La Poste’s reach’. As a next step the company is now set to develop an action plan by this coming summer for the implementation of the strategy.
