DHL Switzerland increased turnover its result last year

On a low sales volume of around 4 million items the turnover went up to 98.14m euros, which represents a 1.6% increase compared to 2001. The net profit went up by 9.4%. Further details would not be revealed, a company spokeswoman declared.

The economic situation had led to a definite decline in the number of international express consignments destined for Switzerland, according to DHL. Trade samples had provided better business and had more than compensated for losses in the shrinking documentary business. The 9.4% increase in net profit was due to improvements in productivity as well as more favourable purchase terms, among other things.
