Deutsche Post DHL reportedly considering tie-up with local partner in China

Deutsche Post DHL Group last week signalled its resolve to play a significant role in China’s booming e-commerce sector – and now media reports have indicated that the company may be eyeing the feasibility of teaming up with a local delivery partner. In an article published by the South China Morning Post today (24 July), Zheng Zhi, managing director of DHL’s e-commerce operations in greater China, is quoted as saying: “We are studying the possibility of forming a tie with a local partner.

“We believe it is conducive to work with strong local delivery companies to explore the potential arising from the cross-border e-commerce.”

In May, of course, UPS announced a partnership with SF Express.
