Business Post's UK Mail granted long-term licence by Postcomm

Business Post Group PLC said its unit UK Mail Ltd has been granted by Postcomm, the independent postal industry regulator, a long-term licence to provide postal services for business customers.

The licence, which is for a minimum period of seven years, permits UK Mail to undertake collection, sorting and national distribution of business mail, with Royal Mail undertaking the final delivery.

UK Mail’s ability to provide postal services under this licence is dependant upon the agreement of access arrangements between UK Mail and Royal Mail, it said.

While Postcomm announced its proposed determination on May 19, these arrangements are still to be finalised, it added.
