Australia Post responds to social media video

Following the release on social media of a video showing an Australia Post operative throwing parcels carelessly into the back of a van, the postal operator has issued an official statement saying that a “full investigation is currently underway”.

The full text of the statement reads: “Australia Post reassures customers the behaviour shown in this video clearly goes against our delivering and handling procedures.

“The driver involved was suspended last week when we were made aware of this incident. A full investigation is currently underway.

“The vast majority of our staff take great care in providing safe and timely mail delivery. If customers have any concerns about their mail delivery, we urge them to contact us on 13 13 18 or through social media.”

According to news.com.au, Australia Post customers have taken to Facebook and other social media sites to express their outrage. However, one commentator defended the postal worker and said the video was “a case of a very unfair sneak attack on the guy”.
