QAS release address cleansing software – QuickAddress Batch 3.0
QAS, the international leader in address management software, has released QuickAddress Batch 3.0, the latest version of its address data cleansing software.
QuickAddress Batch 3.0 validates addresses in a customer or prospect database against the latest official U.S. Postal Service (USPS) records. Invalid, duplicate, or incorrectly formatted addresses are identified, and can be separated for verification while clean addresses remain in use. The product also can perform regular clean-ups, to ensure long-term address data viability.
Maintaining correct addresses can yield significant savings. According to a 2002 USPS and PricewaterhouseCoopers report, 23.6% of all mail sent in the United States is incorrectly addressed. The report also states that two billion pieces of mail are destroyed every year by the USPS, due to bad addresses. The automatic validation of addresses can help a company boost its bottom line in several ways:
– Incorrect addresses can trigger $5 – $12 surcharges from delivery services, such as UPS and FedEX. Better addresses mean fewer surcharges;
– Validated addresses are easier to analyze, which helps companies get an accurate picture of their customer base;
– Marketing campaigns are also more effective when they reach their target audience, which validated addresses can ensure. It’s difficult
to recruit customers who don’t receive your marketing mailings. “Every company has a database. If 23.6% of all addresses in its database are invalid, then the company is losing money in the mail,” said Jonathan Hulford-Funnell, COO at QAS. “The larger the database, the larger the size of the problem.”
