Pos Malaysia & Services Holdings Bhd will invest 80-90 mln rgt this year to improve its services by upgrading equipment and revamping its post offices, The Star newspaper reported, citing acting Chief Executive Officer S M Haja Alawdin S Md Sulaiman.

Pos Malaysia has 646 outlets throughout the country and it plans to first revamp some 50 post offices, he said.

Separately, Malay daily Berita Harian quoted Haja Alawdin as saying the company has proposed to the government a review of postal rates, particularly for business mail services.

Among the suggestions made was to classify the stamp tariffs so different rates can be charged to the public and to businesses.
