DHL launches fast forward service

DHL Express, the express and logistics player, has launched Fast Forward, a service that is expected to bring in an increased efficiency and deliver cost savings for importers and exporters.

Fast Forward facilitates the import and export of shipments weighing 20 kg and above by providing savings with a range of flexible door-to-door solutions to assist customers manage their factory-to-customer logistics chain proficiently, an official statement said.

Fast Forward, it adds, is designed to meet the needs of industries such as automobiles, electronics, heavy engineering, publishing and textiles.

Mr Chris Callen, Country Manager, DHL India, said, “Currently, the handling of heavy weight packages is fraught with risks associated with multi-party, multi-currency arrangements and sorting out customs procedures. Customer demand for alternatives can now be met with Fast Forward, which has been designed as a one-stop service that will provide customers greater cost transparencies, savings, convenience, flexibility, security and speed.”

The company has also designed an online cost comparison tool, available at www.fastforward.dhl.com, which customers can use to compare costs of their current shipping method and those of Fast Forward, and to assess the potential savings and other benefits of using Fast Forward.
