85 jobs cut at UPS Canada

UPS has decided to cut 85 jobs at its Moncton call centre in Canada. Vacated positions will be outsourced and transferred elsewhere within the company.

The move is part of the company’s efforts to grow globally, it was said.

“It’s an efficiency move that will result in some cost savings but it also allows us to get better asset utilisation of things like communications platforms, other fixed-cost elements,” said Dan Shea, vice-president of human resources for UPS Canada.
