UPS: Peak season is one of the most critical times of year to deliver

UPS  is entering the busy 2026 holiday shipping season with expanded shipping options.

From helping customers precisely track their shipments to enhanced package protection, customers benefit from the reliability and flexibility of UPS’s industry leading end-to-end logistics network.

A key part of reliable service is UPS’s RFID-powered tracking technology, which offers more precise, real-time tracking information as packages move through the network. UPS expects to deliver more than 4 billion RFID-enabled packages by the end of 2026.

“Peak season is one of the most critical times of year to deliver, and no one does it better than UPS,” said Matt Guffey, Executive Vice President and Chief U.S. Domestic Officer. “We’ve delivered industry-leading service for eight consecutive peak seasons, earning our customers’ trust year after year. We know what it takes to perform when demand is at its highest, and we’re ready to do it again.”

Kurt Goodwin, Customer Experience Executive for Crutchfield, a premium consumer electronics retailer, added, “UPS RFID technology helps provide greater visibility, reduces uncertainty and improves the overall delivery experience. For Crutchfield, that means fewer customer concerns, fewer tracking-related contacts, and greater confidence during the busiest shipping period of the year.”

New Package Protection Offers Holiday Season Confidence
UPS is expanding solutions that help businesses and consumers protect important shipments during the holiday season. Protected Delivery, a new service for eligible shipments, requires recipients to provide a PIN to the driver before a package is released, adding an extra layer of security for high-value purchases and other sensitive deliveries. The service complements UPS’s broader package protection and fraud-prevention solutions as shipping volumes increase during peak season.
