Danish Government to sell Post Danmark shares

The Danish government intends to start selling Post Danmark shares as soon as the framework for the postal market liberalisation in Denmark has been established, transport minister Flemming Hansen told the parliamentary transport committee. The Danish parliament, ‘Folketinget’, is expected to pass a postal services liberalisation bill in June this year. The bill will probably be modelled on the EU directive, which would leave Post Danmark with a monopoly only for addressed letters up to 50 grams from 2005.
