IKEA Greenwich to offer zero emission deliveries to local Londoners

Zedify is working with IKEA Greenwich, to offer zero emission deliveries by cargo bike for shoppers arriving by public transport, bike, or on foot.

Helen Ayelett Greenwich Store Manager says: “We know that choice, convenience, value and speed are key, and most people like to go shopping without the hassle of having to get everything back home. Instead of bringing their cars, we’re encouraging our customers to simply bring their keys, phone and wallet and we’ll sort out the rest.”

IKEA UK’s leading sustainable store benefits from excellent public transport links, ensuring that access to store by sustainable travel is easy and convenient. In addition to tube and rail links, up to 50 buses serve the store every hour.

For a small fee, Zedify’s unique cargo bikes offer customers an environmentally friendly way to have their purchases delivered to their home or place of work within an approximate 2 mile radius of the store.

Rob King co-founder of Zedify states: “Zedify are delighted to be a part of making IKEA Greenwich the retailer’s leading sustainable store. IKEA are leading the way in sustainable urban retail and Zedify are demonstrating how cargo bikes can help transform urban logistics.”

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at IKEA and moving to a circular economy is essential if we are to continue to meet people’s needs and dreams while staying within the limits of the planet,” said Hege Sæbjørnsen, Country Sustainability Manager, IKEA UK & Ireland.
