PALLETS: Bartrum’s, Nelsons join Pallet-Track
Pallet-Track, the still-to-launch pallet network, says its members are actively working together, but without a central hub.
The network has this week announced two new members. Suffolk-based Bartrum’s Haulage & Storage, with 240 trucks, covers the NR, IP, CO and CM postcodes; Keighley, Yorkshire-based Nelsons Transport will cover the HD, HX and BB areas. Nelsons director Martin David Willoughby says: ‘We have looked at both Palletline and Fortec but payment goes to the owners. Here the members own 25% of the hub and costs are less.’
The network was last month forced to re-assess its launch date but members are not concerned. ‘A network is only as strong as its weakest member and hopefully the stringent process will help avoid any problems,’ says Willoughby.
Pallet-Track , which had planned to launch in September is now expected to start launch in January 04.
