US Postal Connections doubles stores in one year

Global Business Services, Inc.’s subsidiary, Postal Connections of America (PCA), a rapidly growing network of franchise postal, business and communication services stores, reports more than doubling its franchise retail network with 67 stores sold or open compared to 29 in April 2003–a 131percent increase. The company also added five area franchises in the past 12 months taking its total to eight with the recent addition of the Grand Rapids, Michigan, seven-county territory to Doublevision Partners, LLP.

In the past few weeks PCA has sold six stores in Seattle, Modesto, California, Canton, Ohio, Ft Wayne, Indiana, and Gaines Township, Michigan, near Grand Rapids. Also PCA recently opened its first store in Massachusetts in Amherst.

“Our growth strategy is succeeding because we offer a low entry level, rapid build-out package and low ongoing franchise fees for a proven retail concept,” says Kenneth Sully, President, of PCA. “We are very encouraged that existing franchisees have been buying second stores and area franchises to expand their growth potential,” added Sully. The franchisee in Ada, Michigan purchased the Grand Rapids area franchise along with a second store, while in Cleveland recently the area franchisee bought a second store.

PCA area franchises, made up of counties, are territories sold with the exclusive rights to assist in selling store franchises and support ongoing operations of existing stores. Area franchisees earn a share of franchise sales fees and ongoing royalties from stores within their territories. There are PCA area franchisees in Western Oregon, Tucson, the Los Angeles Area, the Winston-Salem Area, the Cleveland Area, the Indianapolis Area, the Chicago Area and Grand Rapids, Michigan.

PCA has 67 locations sold or open stores in 21 states. PCA franchise stores provide shipping, packaging, copying, mail receiving and other services needed by small office/home office businesses and busy consumers offering them convenience and an alternative to the Post Office. Global Business Services, Inc. is headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA, its subsidiary, Postal Connections of America, is based in San Diego, and has been franchising stores since 1999.
