Zedify opens new London depot
Zedify has opened a new depot in Hoxton, just outside London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).
The “micro-consolidation centre” will house up to 20 of Zedify’s zero emission electric cargo trikes and will be able to handle over 1,500 deliveries each day.
As with all Zedify depots, parcels from across the UK will arrive at the Hoxton site in the morning, and they will then be consolidated and sorted into delivery rounds within a two-mile radius. Zedify said that the proximity to the depot means that Zedify riders “often complete 2-3 routes in a day, giving unrivalled flexibility around timeslots”.
Sam Keam co-founder & COO of Zedify said: “This new hub greatly enhances our capacity for growth within central London. With the ULEZ and other restrictions in place for more traditional delivery modes, there has never been a better time to change urban logistics for the better.”
Zedify, which has eight depots across the UK, said that its use of electric-assist cargo bikes helps to “reduce emissions, improve congestion and ensure deliveries can have a positive impact on the urban environment”.
