Palletforce passes 1m pallets
Records are tumbling this month at Palletforce. Its millionth pallet was handled on the 8th, two years almost to the day after it started operation. Lichfield International Freight – based 10 minutes from the hub – broke the record for pallets sent in one wee, at more than 1,000 and Wm Armstrong from Cumbria set a new record for pallets received, at 734.
By Sept 13 03 the network had handled 33,100 pallets this month, compared with 43,800 for the full month a year ago. It adds hub capacity in 3 weeks when it takes over an adjacent hangar at Lichfields Fradley Park which has been vacated by the MODs Military Vehicles Spares operation.
Mick Scarlett, MD, says that the drive through hub operation will allow more than 5,000 pallets a night.
