activePDF Inc. Enables Digital PDF Signing With United States Postal Service Electronic Postmark

activePDF, Inc., a leading provider of PDF conversion and development tools, and AuthentiDate, Inc., a subsidiary of AuthentiDate Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: ADAT), the technical provider of the United States Postal Service Electronic Postmark® (USPS EPM®), announced today that the USPS EPM has been integrated to work with activePDF Toolkit™. activePDF Toolkit is a scalable, programmable, COM object that allows dynamic creation and manipulation of PDF files.

By enabling the USPS EPM service in its Toolkit, activePDF provides its growing list of 9,000 customers with an added level of trust and integrity for their electronic communications. activePDF Toolkit now provides the capability to apply the USPS EPM for time and date stamping, and to enable digital signing of PDF files.

Backed by the integrity of the United States Postal Service, the USPS EPM can detect unauthorized document tampering. Application of the USPS EPM also automatically creates an electronic "fingerprint" as evidence of electronic file content, which is stored for a period of seven years in a third-party repository. During this seven-year time period the original electronically postmarked document can be verified to detect content tampering. As such, the USPS EPM serves as an invaluable non-repudiation tool.

"activePDF is delighted to offer the United States Postal Service EPM to our customers as a solution for conducting transactions securely online," stated Tim Sullivan, CEO and Chairman of activePDF. "We are able to provide a cost-effective solution for customers looking to guarantee the integrity of their electronic documents. activePDF Toolkit customers can now easily integrate EPM technology into their business processes and online transaction systems, thereby increasing consumer confidence while ensuring validity of critical data."

"We are excited about working with activePDF on this venture," AuthentiDate Chairman and CEO John Botti said. "With an impressive list of over 9,000 existing customers, we are confident that activePDF will help to expand the use of the EPM and assure its place in everyday business transactions."
