Italian Post Office counter may become self-service

The Italian Post Office has launched a Self Service project to reduce post office queuing time. Most bills are paid at the Post Office, with around EUR800m of transactions per year. Self-service bill payment would transform the cost into a profit for Post Offices, and reduce waiting time. It will be possible to pay bills by credit card using a special reader, and transactions can be completed in two minutes.
