UK Postcomm in search for new chief
Postcomm is hunting for a new chief executive following the departure of Martin Stanley.
The postal regulator has begun the trawl for a replacement in the wake of Stanley’s appointment as chief executive of the Competition Commission. He will take up the post this autumn.
Nigel Stapleton, Postcomm chairman, says: “Martin has led Postcomm since its inception, and his contribution to its achievements over the last four years has been immeasurable.
“We aim to recruit a chief executive who will ensure Postcomm’s culture and values are maintained, so we can build on the work we have started and achieve our aims.”
Stanley has spent more than 30 years in the civil service. Prior to joining Postcomm, he was director of the regulatory impact unit in the Cabinet Office. He has also held non-executive directorships with American Express and IBM.
Postcomm has recently launched an investigation into Royal Mail’s sole control of the Postcode Address File (PAF) (PM June 18).
The regulator initially refused to confirm the review would take place, after Royal Mail decided to examine licensing agreements for the file (PM February 27). But it has now kicked off a three-month consultation period.
