The Delivery Group prepares for “unprecedented volumes”

E-commerce, mail and pallet specialist The Delivery Group is moving its North-West operation to a larger £12 million service centre in Warrington.

The new Warrington site follows last month’s opening of an £8 million site in Bristol, and a new site in Maidstone which began operations in March. The business also successfully acquired ONEPOST earlier this year.

The Warrington site – situated on Warrington’s Mountpark business park – covers 137,865 sq ft and will host circa 200 employees. The Delivery Group has also made a £1.5 million investment in new sortation machinery as it positions to handle volumes of over 1 billion items per year across its 8 sites.

Paul Carvell, Chairman, The Delivery Group, comments: “Since the management buyout last year, The Delivery Group has invested significantly in its people, facilities and fleet. The result is a market leading company that can offer even better service to its customers with the additional capacity to launch new services over the coming year.”

Steve Stokes, CEO, The Delivery Group, adds: “We are very proud to showcase our latest best-in class service centre. We are bringing the very best distribution solutions to our clients through our regional footprint countrywide. Our commitment is to deliver innovative, high-speed, technology-led solutions to clients through our consultative approach – solutions that excel now and into the future.”

Located at J8 M62, the service centre is just 3 miles from the M6/M62 interchange and midway between Manchester and Liverpool, providing access to a population of 2.5 million within a 30 minute drive time. Lighting at the site will be part powered through solar panels, further driving The Delivery Group’s push towards a greener operation following its recent investment in an electric vehicle delivery fleet.
