Growing use of Click and Collect by South African shoppers
South African smart logistics company Pargo  processed three times more orders during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period than during a normal week, it said.

The company’s Black Friday data review has revealed an  increase of 366% in orders over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period compared to the same period in 2018.

Pargo’s Click and Collect customers chose to collect their orders from 1,609 Pick-up Points across the country – compared to 1,087 Pick-up Points in 2018. The delivery method was particularly popular in urban areas where 70% of all collections happened. One top Pargo customer collected 10 parcels at 1 store during said time period.
Lars Veul, director and co-founder of Pargo commented: “Pargo’s 366% spike in orders over this busy period cements the growing use of Click and Collect by South African online shoppers. This shows that not only is there a dire need for alternative delivery methods, but that access challenges are real in all geographical areas across South Africa.
“Pargo’s constant growth as the leaders of Click and Collect in South Africa is a testament to the success of our customer-centric service that is tailor-made for South Africans who have previously been excluded from online shopping. We will continue to create access to e-commerce for anybody in Africa,” added Lars.
Founded in 2015, Pargo solves challenges of last mile logistics in Africa, through an extensive network of 2500 Pick-up Points.
