Azkar Q1 net rises 19 pct to 5.1 mln eur as revenues grow 15 pct

Transportes Azkar SA said net profit rose 19 pct to 5.1 mln eur in the first quarter to March 31 from 4.3 mln a year earlier on a 15 pct increase in total revenues to 77 mln.

Azkar said revenue growth was driven by a nearly 10 pct rise in deliveries to a total 3.235 mln eur in the first quarter from 2.942 mln a year earlier.

EPS rose to 0.11 eur in the first quarter from 0.09 a year earlier, while EBITDA increased 15 pct to 12 mln eur, with an EBITDA margin on sales of 15.68 pct.

EBIT grew 28 pct to 6.9 mln and pretax profit climbed 23 pct to 6.4 mln eur, beating management’s target for a 12-14 pct increase.

Net debt totalled 44.59 mln eur at end-March with gearing at 29.47 pct, Azkar said, but did not provide comparative figures.

As of March 31, the company said it held 1.825 mln of its own shares, or 3.76 pct, as treasury stock.
