DHL lends its ServicePoint Returns network for donations to charity

DHL Parcel UK has teamed up with the charity Kits4Causes to provide free deliveries for donations of sports kit and equipment.

Kits4Causes, distributes football equipment to social development projects around the world to give more young people access to sport. Since its inception the charity has distributed 52,000 kits across 40 different countries.

Historically the charity relied on donors funding the delivery of goods, which resulted in many planned donations going unsent. Leveraging its ServicePoint Returns network DHL will provide Kits4Causes access to its Simple Returns Portal, part of their Just Right Returns product, allowing people wishing to donate kit the ability to generate a return via the portal for dropping into one of the 3,500 ServicePoints across the UK.

By providing a funded solution that will allow the donation to be dropped into store and sent directly to Kits4Causes, the charity estimates that the partnership will lead to a doubling of volumes of donated items in the coming months.

Chris Grindley, Co-Founder, Kits4Causes Says: “We’re really excited to have DHL Parcel onboard as a partner. Lots of people and organisations have spare kit and equipment they want to donate but the cost and practicality of getting it to us can be prohibitive. Through the generosity of DHL and the convenience of its network, we’re removing a barrier to donating which will result in many more young people across the world getting access to kit, giving them the chance to get involved in sport.”

Peter Fuller, CEO, DHL Parcel, says: “Kits4Causes is a great charity that recognizes the role sport can have in young people’s lives, from improving health, to building communities, to creating life changing career opportunities. We’re delighted to lend our network and support them by making donating to this charity free and simple.”
