MOU to “enhance the performance of ZAMPOST”
The Ministry of Tourism and Arts has signed a memorandum of understanding- MOU- with Zambia Postal Services Cooperation – ZAMPOST– aimed at promoting the growth of the tourism sector, reports ZNBC.
Ministry of Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary Auxilia Ponga says the MOU will also enhance the performance of ZAMPOST Operations.
Dr. Ponga says the MOU has come at a time when government is seeking solutions to revive the tourism sector following the devastating impact of the COVID-19.
She says under the MOU the post-bus will be used as a vehicle to promote tourists along its routes of operations.
Dr. Ponga was speaking during the signing of the MOU in Lusaka last week.
She said its government’s desire to create more investment opportunities in the tourism sector as this will improve the living standards of people.
And Postmaster General Brighton Ngoma said the cooperation will use the partnership as a strategy to grow.
Mr. Ngoma said the MOU will also help the corporation to restore its market relevance and build sustainable revenue stream.
He said the partnership will see Zampost and the Ministry of tourism utilise postal network through its infrastructure and transportation.
