Amtrak will provide next-day deliveries across the UK to boost services to the Kleeneze sales network that employs 14,000 home-based distributors who supply customers locally. The contract is thought to be the largest next day home delivery contract ever placed and further strengthens Amtrak’s position as the home delivery specialist.
The bulk of Amtrak deliveries will be for Kleeneze Europe. This network marketing company’s sales have grown from £20 million to £90 million in seven years.
“We look forward to another five years of sustained growth, and we are very pleased to have Amtrak onboard to undertake our deliveries,” commented chief executive William Rollason. “We see this as a key partnership that will help us develop other areas of our business such as e-retailing and TV home shopping, where a first rate home delivery service is really important.”
Amtrak will be delivering around 9,000 parcels a night following collection from the Kleeneze distribution centre near Bristol. Amtrak couriers have established a close working relationship with local Kleeneze distributors, many of whom work part time and out of normal working hours when it is convenient to customers at home. Amtrak’s unattended delivery service is particularly useful, allowing deliveries to be made when the distributor is not at home.
Kleeneze has employed Amtrak services for a number of years, and the new contract was awarded on the back of Amtrak’s good track record.
“Kleeneze has quadrupled in size in just seven years,” said Kim Rawson, deputy MD of Kleeneze Europe. “ A key part of that growth has been down to Amtrak.”
