TNT launches ultimate supply chain solution launched at Liege

TNT Express – the world’s leading business to business express delivery company – is introducing a new service proposition for Europe – the Value Added Service Centre (VASC). The VASC, based at TNT’s European Air Hub in Liège, Belgium, has been specifically designed to meet customer demands in the fast-changing global distribution industry.

The VASC service offerings include a range of market leading services such as spare parts and emergency stock replenishment, with the VASC team ensuring that the shipments can instantly and at any moment be injected into TNT’s air or road networks.

“The beauty of this service is that customers benefit from the latest possible cut off times for ordering products – up to midnight – as well as the shortest possible transit times to final destinations. This is a unique service in Europe, as none of our competitors can offer such a central location as Liège,” says Joost Bous, Value Added Service Centre Manager. “Customers do not have to put in place any special transport requirements to obtain this late cut off. They also reduce the need to finance their own forward stock locations or warehouses in Europe because it is managed and shipped directly by TNT,” he explains.

The VASC also provides customers with additional facilities such as Repair & Return, Integrated Direct Express services, Merge in Transit and client product diagnostic Testing Services. “This will – again – help significantly reduce time delays and the transportation costs to and from repair vendors,” explains Bous.

The VASC will be offered through existing sales channels within TNT Express and TNT Logistics. It is designed to appeal to customers producing or selling high-tech and high value goods such as mobile telephones, PC technology, medical equipment, industrial machinery or petro-chemical processing materials. Customers also appreciate the fact that they can benefit from TNT Express’ single customs clearance gateway into Europe. Joost Bous continues: “Customers who have a need for high availability and quick response times for products or parts will find this service invaluable.”
