Deutsche Post suspected by regulator of abusing dominant market position

Deutsche Post AG is suspected by Germany’s Federal Networks Agency regulator of abusing its dominant market position and may face a formal investigation on the matter, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported, citing an internal agency memo it obtained.

The newspaper also wrote that numerous private mail delivery companies complained that Deutsche Post was hindering their ability to enter the market for collecting and sorting letters.

A Deutsche Post spokesman denied it was hindering competition when contacted by the newspaper.
