Dirk Tirez is currently Chief Executive Officer a.i. and Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer and Company Secretary.Dirk was selected from a strong pool of highly qualified candidates following a competitive search and selection process carried out by the Remuneration and Nomination Committee supported by the external executive search firm, Korn Ferry.Audrey Hanard, Chair of the Board of Directors of bpost group said: “bpost’s ambition is to continue to guarantee high-quality public services for Belgian citizens, and to continue its long-term transformation into an international growing key player in e-commerce logistics. The Board of Directors has now unanimously approved the selection of Dirk as CEO of bpost group. His experiences combined with a profound understanding of the postal and e-commerce logistics sector uniquely qualify him to lead bpost group and to drive the implementation of the company’s strategy, as Dirk has proven over the past few months as CEO ad interim. A close collaboration with the Board of Directors, as well as constructive social dialogue, remain of utmost importance in this process. On behalf of the Board, I would like to wish him all the best and look forward to work closely with him in the interest of the 34.000 bpost group employees and all our customers.”

Dirk Tirez, CEO bpost group commented: “bpost’s overriding goal remains to maintain its relevance and independence so that it can continue to play its social, societal and economic role in a context where traditional postal activity is gradually decreasing. bpost has taken the first important steps by transforming into an e-commerce logistics player, both in Belgium and abroad showing that our parcel activities are compensating for the decline in mail for the time being. Nevertheless, much remains to be done and bpost must continue the transformation while meeting the legitimate expectations of its various stakeholders and maintaining a healthy economic balance. I truly embrace this new challenge with both confidence and determination. I am committed to accelerate bpost’s path towards further profitable growth and I look forward to working together with the executive leadership team and the global bpost family that has shown incredible resilience this past year.”
