UPN ‘Still on course’

United Pallet Network says it remains on track despite a number of members expressing concerns about the recent departure of several depots.
Firms leaving include Haulways and McCarthy Haulage to Pallet-Track and William Kirk to Palletline.
Neil Cappelow, MD of member Farsley Transport, says: “It is concerning that members are leaving- I believe it’s six this month. The system is working for us at the moment, but it won’t if people keep leaving.”
But UPN MD Rod Baynes tells Motor Transport: “This happens all the time in networks. We had a newer member staring last week, and have another one next week.” He declined to name new arrivals.
“We are happy with the way things are going,” he adds.
